GENERAL

EURO-basic ES301 , is an excellent 100% solids anticorrosive epoxy coating for iron or steel surfaces meeting special requirements not fulfilled by the traditional epoxy specifications. EURO-basic ES301, is ecologically formulated and designed to be applied directly on wet or dry surfaces. Compatible with new or aged iron/steel, tightly adherent rust, and over existing coatings which are firmly bonded to surface. EURO-basic ES301, does not need any primer as it can be applied as a primer, intermediate or finishing coat.

SURFACE PREPARATION

EURO-basic ES301, is designed for application over iron/steel surfaces pre-treated by power tool St3 degree of the Swedish Standard SIS 055900, DW2 of German Standard STG 2222 or SSPC-SP 2, 3, 4 and 10.

Best performance will be achieved by treating all surfaces with EURO-cleaner F2 - SL15, followed by high pressure wash before applying EURO-basic ES301.

Most aged epoxies have recoating limitations. Contact your local Euronavy agent, for recommendations.

MIXING AND THINNING

EURO-basic ES301, is a two pack product, which contains the proper ratio of ingredients. The entire contents of each container must be mixed together, as supplied. Stir base first to obtain smooth homogenous condition not longer than 2 minutes. After obtaining a uniform base, add the curing agent slowly to the base under continuos stirring for 3 minutes. The use of a speed adjustable power mixer is recommended. Do not over agitate as this, will accelerate cure and lower life of product.

DO NOT THIN THIS MATERIAL

Higher temperatures will reduce pot life of the mixture. Lower temperatures will increase it.

APPLICATION

EURO-basic ES301 can be applied, by conventional spray airless, brush or roller. When airless equipment is used, a Graco 30:1 Bulldog or 45:1 Senator or larger pumps is recommended. A 0,21 to 0,25 tip size will provide a good spray pattern. For optimum results, insure that equipment and fluid lines are clean, free of water or solvents. Longer hose length or cold temperatures may require an increase in pump ratio. Care should be taken that proper and uniform film thickness is obtained. The recommended spray angle is 40º / 70º. Product may be applied on wet or dry surfaces in 100% humid conditions.

Tank Coating System - Two coats of EURO-basic ES301, at 100 microns ( 4 mil ) per coat, plus two stripe coats over sharp edges, cut-outs and welds, is recommended to assure that "skips" or holidays are properly covered . Use contrasting colours for each coat and stripe coating.

Ventilation

It is very important for the safety of the applicator and the proper performance of EURO-basic ES301, that good ventilation be provided to all portions of the enclosed area. Dry air IS NOT a must since EURO-basic ES301, DOES NOT contain solvents, can be applied under severe conditions of humidity.
